This creative weaving workshop allows participants to gain a basic understanding of the principles of hand-weaving, whilst creating their own unique woven artwork or fabric.
Under Pamela’s guidance you will learn how to set up a frame loom and to weave a variety of basic weave structures, such as plain weave and twill, as well as some decorative tapestry techniques including rya knots and soumak stitch. You will have access to a wide variety of yarns to enable you to experiment with texture and colour blending.
Small group of 5 people maximum, to allow plenty of one-one tuition. Suitable for complete beginners, or those relatively new to weaving.
Workshops take place on a Wednesday and Saturday on a choice of scheduled dates. Alternatively, if you are a family or group of friends (min 4 people) and have a specific date in mind this can be arranged at no additional cost – please contact Pamela directly.
THE WORKSHOP INCLUDES:
- 4.5 hours of weaving demonstrations and guided | one-one tuition.
- Use of the looms and tools.
- Access to an inspirational library of yarns from merino wool to fancy Italian and wool/silk fibres.
