This creative taster weaving workshop allows participants to gain a good understanding of the principles of hand-weaving using an Ashford or Louet 8-shaft table loom. You will learn how to follow a lifting plan and weave a variety of different patterns, as well as having access to a wide variety of weft yarns to enable you to experiment with texture and colour blending. All the looms will be set up in advance using merino wool, or you can arrange to bring your own loom. You will come away with your own selection of sample fabrics or length to make a product.

Suitable for complete beginners, or those wishing to develop their skills on a table loom.

3-6 participants, allowing plenty of personalised tuition.

Workshops take place on scheduled weekdays at 9.30-3.30pm and Saturdays at 10-4pm, with a short break for lunch, on a choice of scheduled dates.

There is also the option to book a morning or afternoon taster for 3 hours.

You can book your place using the dropdown above or you can contact Pamela directly. Alternative weekend dates/times can be arranged as well as mid-week options.

THE WORKSHOP  INCLUDES:

  • Demonstrations and personalised one-to-one tuition.
  • Use of the looms and tools.
  • Access to an inspirational library of yarns from merino wool to fancy Italian and wool/silk fibres.
  • Workshop technical guide.
  • Refreshments

Ashford looms, and accessories, along with Merino wool 2/17nm, will also be available to purchase / order on the day.
